Our history starts when “Elektrolaboratoriet A/S” was founded in 1949 by Mr. Leo Nielsen. With a commitment to precision, the company set out to revolutionize temperature monitoring, specializing in the development of temperature indicators with thermocouple probes, serving primarily hospital and the pharmaceutical sector.

Gergely Sved

- In June 2025, Gergely Sved was appointed CEO of Ellab after the departure of Ludvig Enlund.
- In February 2025, we launched our rebrand with a fresh look that highlighted our commitment to being a global provider of end-to-end compliance solutions for the life science industry.
- In December 2024, Ellab acquired PharmaProcess, an Italian and Swiss company specialized in pharmaceutical engineering, consulting, CQV, and compliance.
- In April 2024, E-Val™ Pro Plus was introduced, setting new benchmarks for efficient and reliable wired validation.
- In March 2024, TrackView Pro entered the market with a goal of protecting assets and ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.
- In September 2023, Novo Holdings and The Lundbeck Foundation became the new owners of Ellab, further expanding our potential for growth and innovation.
- In June 2023, our sustainability targets were approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative.
- In May 2023, Ellab acquired PharmaSys, a US-based validation service and consulting company in North Carolina.
- In April 2023, Ellab acquired Complete Technical Solutions (CTS), a UK-based validation service company for the biotech and pharma industry.
- In November 2022, Ellab acquired Evolution Scientific Inc. (ESi), a US-based preventative and corrective maintenance, calibration and metrology company in Pennsylvania.
- In November 2022, Ellab acquired Integrated Commissioning & Qualification Corporation (ICQ), a US-based validation service and consulting company in Massachusetts.
- In September 2022, Ellab acquired CalX, an Irish on-site and complete calibration management company.
- In July 2022, Ellab acquired Causa, a Dutch validation service company specializing in CQV of disinfection and sterilization equipment.
- In June 2022, Ellab acquired Project Support, a Danish validation, consulting, and calibration service company for the life science industry.
- In May 2022, Ellab acquired Autocal, an Irish validation service and project management company for the life science industry.
- In April 2022, Ellab acquired Clover Life Science, an Italian qualification, validation, and consulting service company.
- In February 2022, Ellab entered into a partnership with Kneat to bring our clients the golden standard for paperless validation.
- In September 2021, Ellab acquired Arena Instrumentation Ltd., an English, UKAS accredited calibration company.
- In August 2021, Ellab acquired Valcom, a Dutch CQV company for the life science industry.
- In August 2021, we kick-started our sustainable journey, certifying production plants (ISO 14001) and setting environmental and workplace goals.
- In April 2021, Ludvig Enlund was appointed CEO of Ellab after Peter Krogh stepped down.
- In February 2021, Ellab acquired PEC, a Danish engineering consulting and CQV services company.
- In December 2020, the TrackSense® LyoPro data logger was released for freeze drying processes.
- In May 2020, Ellab acquired QualUs, an Irish thermal qualification and validation services company.
- In April 2020, Ellab acquired Adsano, a German and Swiss CQV services company.
- In January 2020, Ellab acquired Instrument Technology Ltd. (ITL), an Irish instrumentation products and services company.
2010 - 2019
- In August 2019, Ellab announced that EQT would take over ownership of Ellab from IK Investment Partners.
- In June 2019, Ellab acquired Hanwell Solutions Ltd., an English environmental monitoring solution company and manufacturer.
- In May 2019, we introduced SteriSense®, a new Bowie Dick testing device, simplifying and streamlining testing procedures.
- In December 2018, Ellab acquired FASINTERNATIONAL and FASLAB, marking our first direct presence in Italy.
- In August 2017, we launched our new branch, Ellab Fzco, in Dubai to be closer to clients in the Middle East.
- In August 2016, Ellab Holding sold Ellab to IK VIII Fund, managed by IK Investment Partners.
- In March 2015, we introduced the E-Val™ Pro, taking wired validation to the next level.
- In November and October 2014, we unveiled the new TrackSense Pro XL and Compact UX data loggers.
- In April 2013, the TrackSense® Pro Compact X data logger was introduced.
- In January 2012, the TrackSense® Frigo data logger entered the market, setting new benchmarks at ultra-low temperatures.
2000 - 2009
- In January 2009, Ellab moved its headquarters to Hilleroed to support its rampant growth.
- In October 2008, we introduced the Ellab Temperature Indicator (ETI), a temperature and pressure indicator for steam sterilization.
- In August 2008, live data was introduced for our data loggers via the SKY solution with radio frequency.
- In September 2007, the Ellab Academy for customers was established.
- In January 2006, we unveiled the Ellab Temperature Standard, a highly accurate calibration reference instrument.
- In September 2005, the TrackSense® Pro X data logger was introduced to increase the low-temperature range of the Pro series.
- In May 2005, we introduced the E-Val™ Flex wired validation solution to the market.
- In August 2004, ownership of Ellab A/S changed, with Ellab Holding reducing its ownership from 100% to 40%. Conectivo Holding ApS and Krogh Invest ApS each acquired 30% of the shares.
- In June 2004, TrackSense® Lab was introduced to laboratories worldwide.
- In December 2003, Ellab acquired the automation company MS Control and integrated it into our R&D department.
- In July 2003, we introduced the TrackSense® Pro Mini data logger.
- In November 2002, we opened our office in France, Ellab S.A.R.L., to be closer to key clients in the region.
1990 - 1999
- In August 1999, Peter Krogh assumed the position of President and CEO of Ellab, replacing Hans Jørgen Leo Nielsen.
- In June 1997, Ellab Philippines Corp. was founded.
- In 1996, the E-Val™ system was introduced, setting the scene for the next century of wired validation.
- In September 1995, Ellab Inc. was founded to bring us closer to critical clients in the United States.
- In 1994, the TrackSense wireless data logger was unveiled, introducing Ellab’s data logger brand to the market.
- In 1992, Ellab released its first PC-based thermal process validation system, CMC92.
- In 1990, Ellab installed its first metrology laboratory with certified reference instruments for calibration.

- In 1985, the HFM86 and DM876 Clinical Monitoring thermometers are introduced for hypothermia therapy and open-heart surgery among other things.
- In 1981, Ellab introduced the CMC821 for the food industry.
- In 1979, the APT24 is introduced to the medical industry as the first automated Pyrogen testing equipment.
- In 1978, the Ellab Foundation is established and Ellab’s ownership is transferred to the foundation.
- In 1975, the first electronic digital thermometer and F0-value calculator, CTD/FDQ, is released, allowing sterilization values to be calculated without manual efforts.
- In 1973, the first digital thermometers DU-X for remote temperature measurements for intensive care and recovery room patients are introduced.
- In 1971, the Z9CTF recorder with thermocouples is introduced.
- In 1970, Elektrolaboratoriet A/S changes its name to Ellab A/S and reaches past 40 employees.
- In 1967, Ellab launched a portable and bedside surveillance system for hospitals. The system could measure body temperature, pulse, respiration rate, blood pressure, and record cardio scope.
- In 1965, Ellab introduced the world’s first temperature recorder, TRRD6, based on resistance measurements for medical use.
- In 1961, Elektrolaboratoriet A/S moves headquarters to Roedovre after growing past 20 employees.
- In 1956, the TEC thermometer is designed to measure temperature during sterilization processes.
- In 1950, the TE3 thermometer was designed to measure temperature in critical environments.
- In 1949, Elektrolaboratoriet A/S was founded by Mr. Leo Nielsen.
